Let me start by saying, this is a Canadian post. The following exposition comes from a distinctly Canadian lens.
In Canada there are the winter fans, and there are the summer fans. Some say summer is Top Dog with it's balmy nights and sunshine, while others say it is too hot and humid. As soon as the temperature starts to drop below zero, winter fans are scanning the sky looking for the flakes to fall. "Smells like Snow!" they say excitedly, rubbing their hands with glee as they pull out ski gear and skates. Meanwhile, in the summer camp, moans of gloom and doom at the thought of shovelling and waking up in the dark. Spring, though appreciated, now seems to be compacted down to about two weeks. Global warming or something - who knows; we probably don't agree. A Canadian Spring barely registers anymore.
But Autumn...ah, that is a glorious season. Golden days with relief from the humidity and just a hint of coolness to wake up the winter folk.
Fiery red, glowing orange and butter yellow leaves fall from the trees, creating a crunchy carpet of colour.
"Sweata-weatha" is upon us and we get cosy in our woollens to enjoy Mother Nature's Big Show.
Then it's inside with the fireplace (and I recommend a snoring Dog) to warm up.
If that's not enough, we Canadians, wisely added in Thanksgiving right smack in the middle of the fall harvest to enjoy the bounty at it's freshest.
Turkey with stuffing and mashed potatoes, carrots, corn, peas, beets, pickles and it goes on.
But always save room for dessert!
I've met Canadians who hate winter or find summer way too stifling and bugs irritating but I've NEVER met a Canadian who didn't like Autumn. We live in a very fractured and sectioned-off world.
Standard time vs. Daylight Savings time
Go Red! Go Blue!

Just come and hang out in Canada during the Fall season. You will find that is something we can all agree upon.
